THE RESURRECTION OF JESUS

Jesus was crucified, died and buried. And on the third day HE rose again.

RESURRECTION is very important and essential part of Christianity.  There will be no Christians without the resurrection(1 Cor 15).

As I read the bible I've found out that aside from the 12 Disciples/Apostles, Jesus made 12 appearances after His resurrection.

  1. APPEARANCE TO MARY MAGDALENE.  (John 20:10-18) Mary Magdalene stay at the tomb crying.  Then a man appeared to her saying, "WHY SHE IS CRYING?", then soon she realized that the man asking her is JESUS.
  2. JESUS APPEARED TO THE WOMEN RETURNING FROM THE TOMB.(Matthew 28: 9-10) Jesus suddenly meet them and greet them.  "GREETINGS," He said.  And they all clasped his feet and worshiped him.  Then Jesus said to them, " DO NOT BE AFRAID.  GO AND TELL YOUR BROTHERS TO GO TO GALILEE; THEN THEY WILL SEE ME".
  3. JESUS APPEARED TO TWO DISCIPLES ON THE ROAD TO EMMAUS.(Mark 16:12-13)
  4. HE APPEARED TO PETER IN JERUSALEM.  (Luke 24:34)
  5. JESUS APPEARED TO HIS DISCIPLES AND OTHER FOLLOWERS and a second time TO THE TWO MEN FROM EMMAUS IN A LOCKED ROOM IN JERUSALEM.  EXCEPT FOR APOSTLE THOMAS. (Luke 24: 36-43)
  6. JESUS APPEARED TO THOMAS. (John 20:24-29)
  7. JESUS AND THE MIRACULOUS CATCH OF FISH. (John 21:1-24) Jesus appeared to his seven disciples on the shore of the Sea of Galilee.
  8. JESUS WAS SEEN BY 500 FOLLOWERS AT ONE TIME. (1 Cor 15:6)
  9. APPEARED TO JAMES. (1 Cor 15:7)
  10. APPEARED TO HIS 11 DISCIPLES ON A MOUNTAIN of GALILEE. (Matt 28:18-20)
  11. THE ASCENSION OF JESUS.(Luke 24:50-53) They walked with Him along the road to Bethany. On the Mount of Olives, and then ascended into heaven.
  12. HE WAS SEEN BY PAUL ON THE ROAD TO DAMASCUS. (1 Cor 15:8)

Jesus died for our sins.  Our faith will be meaningless if there had been no resurrection.(1 Cor 15:17)

We are now in the stage of WAITING.  WAITING for HIS return.  Many speculation arises for His coming but only proven wrong.  We all see the signs described in Matthew 24, the Bible warns us not to worry and reminds us all to be spiritually prepared.  For us Christians, His return will be a victorious one and a glorious event of all time.

MAUNDY THURSDAY 28 2013

OUR DAILY MEDITATION

Thursday 28th March, 2013
Holy Thursday. Exodus 12:1-8, 11-14.

Our blessing-cup is a communion with the blood of Christ
- Ps 115(116):12‑13, 15-18. 1 Corinthians 11:23-26. John 13:1-15.

The Passover shows us God’s grand, loving design for his chosen people continuing to unfold.

God spares them from death, frees them from slavery and prepares to lead them out of Egypt into the promised land. This wonderful act of redemption is to come to its full fruition in the passion and resurrection of Jesus.

As we approach our great Easter feast, we are once again alerted to the powerful paradox of Christianity. On the night of the Last Supper, when he institutes the Eucharist, leaving himself as a precious gift to his followers, Jesus also performed the most menial of tasks. He showed us the way - that it is in serving that we are truly satisfied, in giving that we richly receive, and in suffering and dying that we pass with him into eternal glory.

Remember Not The Sins of My Youth

Tuesday 5th March, 2013
Daniel 3:25, 34-43. Remember your mercies, O Lord - Ps 24(25):4-9. Matthew 18:21-35.

I have just finished reading Julian Barnes’ The Sense of an Ending and found it quite unsettling. It poses questions about whether we can be defined by the ‘sins of our youth’. We are shaped by our past behavior  but at what point do we leave it behind and become a mature adult?

The main character in this book has not done this, despite being confronted with the costs of his behavior many years later.

Maybe his cynicism and lack of faith, not just in God but in his fellow humans, is what is holding him back. Forgiveness is so powerful, and to give or receive it requires this faith. God accepts and loves us, despite the times when we don’t get it right. We need to do the same for ourselves and for others.

THE POOREST PRESIDENT IN THE WORLD

Do you know him?  He is the President of Uruguay since 2010, JOSE ALBERTO "Pepe" MUJICA CORDANO.   He really become viral for his frugal ways of living life.  The President who is dubbed as the "POOREST PRESIDENT IN THE WHOLE WORLD", when he donates 90 percent of his salary to charitable causes.

-Poorest President in the World

*Magsilbing aral at gabay sana sa atin ito lalo na sa pangangalaga sa ating kalikasan. Sana lahat ng namumuno sa bansa natin kasing humble niya.

Hoping for a Philippine President like this, very humble and down to earth.  Thinking others life and not selfish.

Prayer for 2013

That in this Year of Faith Christians may deepen their knowledge of the
mystery of Christ and witness joyfully to the gift of faith in him.

against, may receive from the Holy Spirit the strength of fidelity and perseverance.

accompanied in their difficulties.

That the peoples at war and in conflict may lead the way in building a peaceful future.

That respect for nature may grow with the awareness that all creation is God’s
work entrusted to human responsibility.

Clergy.  That bishops, priests, and deacons may be tireless messengers of the Gospel to the ends of
the earth.

That the public, prayerful celebration of faith may give life to the faithful.

That mission churches may be signs and instruments of hope and resurrection.

That administrators of justice may act always with integrity and right
conscience.

That seminaries, especially those of mission Churches, may form pastors after the Heart
of Christ, fully dedicated to proclaiming the Gospel.

That a culture of dialogue, listening, and mutual respect may prevail among
peoples.

That where secularization is strongest, Christian communities may effectively
promote a new evangelization.

That World Youth Day in Brazil may encourage all young Christians to become
disciples and missionaries of the Gospel.

That throughout Asia doors may open to messengers of the Gospel.

DEC 21 Predictions: NONSENSE

The web is now ALIVE with this END OF THE WORLD THING.   But so far as I read about Mayan Calendar all this are misreading and misleading.

IslesPunkFan via cc

All are hoaxes, what they've seen on the internet or read in the newspaper are all NONSENSE according to David Morrison, planetary astronomer at NASA.

The Maya never did predicted the end of the world.  Based on what I have read about the MAYAN CALENDAR, the Mayan Calendar is very confusing, they have the concept for a very long calendar, but never an end time.

As what Rosalinda Joyce have said, a professor of anthropology from UNIVERSITY of CALIFORNIA:

they used a calendar with BAKTUN, is 20 katun cycles of the ancient Maya Long Count Calendar. It contains 144,000 days, equal to 394.26 tropical years. So as they see on 13th BAktun they have the end date, Dec. 21,2012. But they have another 14th BAKTUN, 15 BAKTUN and so forth...

Just think of a car cycle odometer, when it comes to an end you have to reset it again and again.

SO STOP THAT END OF THE WORLD viral thingy.  You might scare or kill other people because of this NONSENSE NEWS.
